Brayden Baldwin Commits to Łódź Legion

ŁÓDŹ, POLAND — The Łódź Legion are pleased to announce that defenseman Brayden Baldwin has committed to the club for the 2026–27 EUCHL season. The Whitehorse, Yukon native becomes another key addition to the Legion's roster as the organization prepares for the inaugural campaign of the European Union College Hockey League.

Baldwin, born in 2007, arrives in Łódź following his most recent stint with the North Peace Navigators, where he established himself as a dependable presence on the blue line. The 19-year-old brings exactly the type of profile the Legion have been targeting—a physically mature defenseman who combines size and strength with the hockey sense to contribute at both ends of the ice. Scouts have praised Baldwin's reliability in his own zone while noting significant offensive upside that the Legion's development staff will work to unlock. His combination of defensive responsibility and emerging offensive instincts makes him an ideal fit for the college hockey model, where young players are encouraged to round out all aspects of their game.

The opportunity to combine elite hockey development with world-class academics proved to be a major draw for Baldwin. Through partnerships with the University of Łódź and Łódź University of Technology, Legion players gain access to diverse academic programs while competing at a high level. For a player from Canada's north, the chance to experience European culture while pursuing both educational and athletic goals represents a unique pathway. The EUCHL model—designed around the principle of developing complete individuals, not just hockey players—aligns perfectly with Baldwin's long-term aspirations both on and off the ice.

"Brayden embodies everything we're building here in Łódź," said Legion management in a statement. "He's a player with tremendous character who understands that success requires commitment in all areas of life. His defensive reliability gives us a foundation to build on, and we're excited to help him develop the offensive dimension of his game."

As the Łódź Legion continues assembling its roster for the historic first EUCHL season, Baldwin's addition strengthens a defensive corps that will be critical to the team's success. The club's mission—Developing Players. Building Character. Redefining the College Hockey Experience.—will be tested beginning this October, and Baldwin will play a central role in writing the first chapter of Legion hockey.
