ŁÓDŹ LEGION SIGN TOWERING NETMINDER COLE STEVENS FOR INAUGURAL EUCHL SEASON

The Łódź Legion are pleased to announce the commitment of goaltender Cole Stevens for the 2026–27 EUCHL season. The Oakville, Ontario native becomes the latest addition to the Legion's inaugural roster as the club prepares for the launch of the European Union College Hockey League this fall.

Stevens, who stands an imposing 6'7", brings four years of junior hockey experience to Łódź after competing in both the USPHL and PJCHL. Most recently with Duvall's Mudcats, the 21-year-old goaltender has steadily developed his game across North American junior circuits, gaining valuable experience and refining his craft between the pipes. His journey through junior hockey has been marked by consistent growth and an unwavering commitment to improvement at every level.

What impressed Legion coaching staff most about Stevens wasn't just his rare physical attributes for the position, but his approach to the game. Scouts consistently praised his work ethic, describing him as a true student of hockey with exceptional character both on and off the ice. His massive frame gives him natural advantages in net coverage, but it's his attitude and willingness to learn that project him as an ideal fit for the Legion's development-focused program. Stevens' combination of size, experience, and coachability makes him a cornerstone piece as Łódź builds its goaltending depth for the challenges of inaugural EUCHL competition.

The opportunity to continue his hockey career while pursuing academic studies through the Legion's partnership with internationally accredited universities was a major factor in Stevens' decision. The European college hockey model offers him a unique pathway to balance athletic and academic development in ways unavailable in traditional North American routes. Living and studying in Poland's third-largest city provides an unparalleled cultural experience alongside the chance to compete at a high level.
